• A recent analysis of previous studies revealed that back pain affects 1% of seven-year olds, 6% of ten-year olds, and 18% of teens ages 14-16. Most cases of low back pain in children are not serious, but it can affect school attendance and their participation in gym class or sports. The researchers recommend a thorough evaluation by a healthcare provider to rule out any serious conditions that may be causing a child’s back pain.
